New York/San Francisco, Oct 9 (EFE).- Google on Tuesday unveiled its new Pixel Slate, a tablet that can be used as a portable computer and designed so that users can get the most from both work and their leisure time.
Google officials told EFE that the new device has been designed for people with a “versatile” lifestyle and the new tablet will enable them, for instance, to work and play at the same time or change from one activity to another with little effort.
Regarding the Pixel Slate’s features, it comes with a split screen that allows users to run two simultaneous applications and to select the screen size for each one.
For example, a person can read an article on one part of the screen and take notes on the other, adjusting the latter zone to be slightly larger for ease of use.
In addition, in the upper portion of the screen appear suggested apps that change according to the time of day based on the habits of users, something that has been included using automatic learning techniques.
Regarding its leisure options, Pixel Slate provides a brilliant 4K screen, considered to be among the best on the market.
The speakers, meanwhile, can be adjusted to very high volumes with the aim of offering, along with high image quality, a “cinematic experience,” Google told EFE.
The tablet also comes with both frontal and rear high-definition cameras, both of 8 megapixels.
The device is also very thin and light, weighing just 725 grams (1.6 pounds), and converting it from a tablet to a laptop and vice versa is quick and easy.
This is the first Google tablet to use its Chrome OS operating system, and it comes with a 10-hour battery and will be available starting at $599.
