Nacido en Sugarland, Texas, vivió por 38 años en San José y los últimos tres años de su vida en Gilroy. Trabajó como carnicero en varios supermercados del área.

He was President of the Gilroy Luncheon Optimist Club, the past public relations officer of the Gilroy Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Fiestas Patrias of San Jose. He was a World War II veteran, and also past commander of the American Legion in Gilroy and was active with the American GI Forum.
