Tabard Theatre announces Grace & The Grit EP Release Show with Magick Blues Band

San Jose, CA October 9, 2023— Tabard Theatre announces Grace & The Grit with Magick Blues Band, celebrating Grace & The Grit’s latest EP release with a night of soulful melodies on Friday, October 20, at 8pm. As their name suggests, Grace and The Grit bring together a powerful mix of graceful melodies and old school grittiness, creating exciting modern music with a sense of relevant timelessness.  Magick Blues Band meshes rock n’ roll, folk, soul and jazz drawing elements of historic jam bands into a captivating sound all their own. The show is available both to attend in-person and to stream from home live. For those unable to attend at the downtown San Jose venue or to tune in live, the high-quality multi-camera recording will also be available On-Demand for 30 days following the show. In-person single tickets are $23 for General Admission and $33 for reserved Cabaret seating. Livestream or On-Demand tickets are “choose your own pricing.”

Grace and The Grit came to be when vocalist and songwriter Nehal Abuelata, well known for her exceptionally soulful and powerful vocals, began to collaborate with longtime blues guitarist Austin Geiger. After many years of writing together, the duo decided to form a new band and pursue their passion for creating original blues and soul music. They were soon joined by local harmonica heavyweight Ryan Walker, who added his variety of harmonica tastes to the mix, further developing the group’s unique sound. Next came drummer Matt Condino who—with a lot of flair and a large array of drumming styles in his pocket—was able to bring the music to life.

After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, Grace and The Grit was finally rounded out with the addition of Adam Martinez, whose incredibly soulful bass style perfectly completed their Progressive-Soul sound.

They have performed at the Fountain Blues and Brews Festival and multiple times in the Saratoga Mountain Winery Garden before Diana Ross’s Music Legacy Tour this June and the Empress of Soul Gladys Knight’s tour in August.

Magick Blues Band has become a force—meshing rock n’ roll, folk, soul and jazz. The current, six-member group delivers a powerful experience drawing elements of historic jam bands such as The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band, The Band and more. A combination of original tunes and electrifying covers coalesces into a captivating sound all their own. Magick deliverS a raw, organic experience–offering older patrons nostalgia while drawing younger ones to the discovery of a delicious vintage sound.

Magick Blues Band is Justin Morton (Guitar),  Sean “Swan” Salazar (Guitar/Vocals), Nick Verdi (Bass Guitar/Vocals), Justin “Gus” Ward (Keyboard/Organ), Zack Sauer (Drums/Vocals), and Sean Biggar (Drums/Percussions).
