San Jose, CA October 25, 2023— Tabard Theatre announces Katerina Brown & Friends: Put A Spell On You, a magically musical, frighteningly danceable, scarily beautiful jazzy Halloween party on Sunday, October 29, at 7pm. The show is available both to attend in-person and to stream from home live. For those unable to enjoy the show live that night, the high-quality multi-camera recording will also be available On-Demand for 30 days following the show. In-person single tickets are $35 for General Admission and $50 for reserved Cabaret seating, which includes your first glass of wine. Livestream or On-Demand tickets are “choose your own pricing.”
Audiences are invited for a magically musical, frighteningly danceable, horribly interesting, scarily beautiful jazzy Halloween party. Get ready to listen, sing and dance in the company of Magic Diva, possessor of a bewitching voice, Katerina Brown and her Mellow Tones Vocal Studio friends. We guarantee a fun and noisy coven. The program includes three sets of Halloween and fall themed music, where you will enjoy the best pop-jazz and dance compositions with great instrumentalists and vocalists. Costumes– whether scary, sexy or silly—are encouraged, but of course not required. There will be a costume contest at the end of the night! A prize awaits the guest deemed “Best Dressed”

Vocals and Host: Katerina Brown – The warm, honeyed voice of Katerina Brown brings a fresh flavor to the world of jazz. Russian-born and trained, influenced by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Sara Vaughan, Katerina has traveled the globe, honing her distinctive sound. She can wind her way effortlessly through a velvety rendition of an American jazz standard, or powerfully, passionately command the notes of romantic classics. Katerina Brown’s artful style and lush vocals are a classic in the making.
Rick Ferguson (piano) loves invention and delight. Rick has played venues from Chicago to Sedona to Melbourne to Kauai and the Bay Area, has two songs featured in a 2013 movie soundtrack, and recently played for the President of Ireland. He has accompanied such jazz vocalists as Kimberly Gordon and Joe Williams in Chicago and Sarah Marie Young, winner of the 2011 Montreux Jazz Festival Young Vocalist Competition. A regular at Angelicas, the Filoli Mansion, and the Los Altos Bistro/Long Bar, Rick works with established and emerging vocalists in the Bay Area.
Tabard Theatre (formerly Theatre on San Pedro Square) — The Destination for Arts Discovery — is located in the heart of historic San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose amid a bustling restaurant district. This intimate and unique venue brings a touch of Manhattan to the South Bay with its rustic yet edgy feel. The three-quarter round cabaret stage nestled in an inviting room of antique wood floors and original brick walls is the perfect intimate setting for live music and comedy.
