49ERS Foundation hosted Bay Area high schools for Mentorship Academy at Levis Stadium

San Francisco 49ers hosted their annual 49ers Foundation Mentorship Academy event at Levi’s®Stadium. The event was supported by the William V. Campbell Family Foundation, Prime Meridian Group, and Newfront.

This three-step program is designed to help high school football players develop the skills necessary to succeed and be leaders on and off the field.

Local high school football teams were invited to bring their head coach and five varsity captains for a program focused on leadership development, the importance of giving back to their community, how to be a good teammate, advice on social media usage, and how to learn from and emulate positive role models.

The event kicked off with a 45-minute session led by the Positive Coaching Alliance, followed by a discussion with the 49ers 2022 rookie class.

The captains are then provided the platform to take what they learned from the 49ers and become mentors in their local community. Members of the girls’ flag football teams from Terra Linda High School and Galileo Academy of Science and Technology were participants for the first time in the event’s history.

Participating schools include

  • Tennyson (Hayward)
  • Sabrato (Morgan Hill)
  • Gunderson (San Jose)
  • Gilroy (Gilroy)
  • Irvington (Fremont)
  • Deer Valley (Antioch)
  • Santa Clara (Santa Clara)
  • Galileo (San Francisco)
  • Terra Linda (San Rafael)
  • Balboa (San Francisco)
