Tabard Theatre announces  Swingin’ with Sinatra concert featuring A Touch of Brass Big Band

San Jose, CA July 15, 2023—Tabard Theatre announces a swingin’ summer night  with cocktails, dancing and music by Silicon Valley’s premiere big band, A Touch of Brass. Swingin’ with Sinatra offers an all-star set list full of everyone’s favorite Frank Sinatra songs performed by three different vocalists. This is not an impersonator show. Tickets are available both to attend in-person and to livestream from home on Saturday, July 22 at 8pm. For those unable to experience the show live, the high-quality multi-camera recording will also be available On-Demand for 30 days following the show. Single tickets are $25 for General Admission and $35 for reserved Cabaret table seating. Livestream and on-demand patrons are given the option to choose their own price point, starting at just $15. Patrons are encouraged to dress to impress, dress to decompress, or anywhere in between.

There is nothing quite like hearing the timeless sound of Sinatra backed by a full big band orchestra, and A Touch of Brass is one of the best! The swinging horns, dynamic keys and driving rhythm section perfectly complement Sinatra’s smooth and velvety sound. Get your dancing shoes out, dust off your fedora and get ready to be transported to a bygone era of glamour and sophistication with this night of classic music at Tabard.

A Touch of Brass is an 18-piece band, including vocalists, featuring some of the most talented musicians in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their extraordinary shows are enjoyed at corporate, private, and community events throughout Northern California.

Ed Morrison (Band leader, Trumpet) has 40 years of musical accomplishments as lead trumpet backing such notables as Larry Elgart, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Frankie Valli, Bobby Rydell, Fabian, as well as playing for jazz greats John Faddis, Steve Turre, and Kevin Mahogany. In addition, he also plays lead and directs his own 18 piece big band, ‘A Touch of Brass’. He free-lances with many different types of groups playing styles from salsa to funk to Gospel and theater. Ed’s biggest musical influence is trumpeter Doc Severinsen.

Tabard Theatre (formerly Theatre on San Pedro Square) — San Jose’s “Hidden Gem” venue for the performing arts—  is located in the heart of historic San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose amid a bustling restaurant district.  This intimate and unique venue brings a touch of Manhattan to the South Bay with its rustic yet edgy feel. Old brick walls, plush leather seats, antique wood plank floors, sweeping red velvet drapes and a 35-foot mahogany bar create a casual cabaret atmosphere. The three-quarter round cabaret stage— described by artists as “a room that feels big and small at the same time” — is the perfect setting for live music and theatre.
