San Jose, CA – La historia del ballet El Cascanueces (The Nutcracker) aparece por primera vez en 1816, en Kinder-märchen, una colección de cuentos navideños infantiles escrita por C. W. Contessa, Friedrich Baron de la Motte Fouqué, y Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann (l776-l822) una de las prominentes figuras de la literatura Alemana del Siglo XIX que la escribió bajo su nombre de pluma, E. T. A. Hoffman, y la tituló “El Cascanueces y el Rey de Los Ratones”.
